Sumit Nihalani is the Director of Credit Investments at Newbond Holdings. With a comprehensive background in real estate investment across diverse asset types, Sumit focuses on sourcing and originating new credit investments.
Prior to Newbond, Sumit served as Director and Head of East Coast Acquisitions and Originations at Vanbarton Group, a vertically integrated real estate investment manager. During his time there, he led significant growth initiatives, marked by a keen focus on enhancing the firm's investment portfolio in both equity and debt investments, as well as capital raising efforts.
Before his tenure at Vanbarton, Sumit was an acquisitions professional at RREEF Management/DWS, supporting the firm's investment efforts across office, industrial, retail, and multifamily assets in the Northeast and Southern Florida. Sumit began his real estate career at Lazard Real Estate Partners, where he focused on senior housing, industrial, multifamily, and hospitality platform investments.
He received a B.S.B.A. in finance from Georgetown University. He serves on the Board of Directors of the New York Junior Tennis and Learning organization, as well as the Advisory Board of the Steers Real Estate Center at Georgetown.
