Bret D. McLeod is Chief Financial Officer and serves on the Corporate Management Committee (‘CMC’) for Citycon, a publicly listed, mixed-use real estate owner of 35 grocery-anchored centers and over 250 employees throughout the Nordics (Sweden, Finland, Norway, Denmark, and Estonia). He is responsible for all finance, accounting, treasury, investor relations, FP&A, tax, corporate strategy, communications and legal departments. He is chair of Citycon’s Capex Committee, in addition to serving on the Investment and IT Steering Committees.

Prior to Citycon, McLeod was co-founder, Managing Partner and Chief Financial Officer of Lakewood Hotel Group, a private investment firm that has made over $175 million of hotel investments to date on behalf of its institutional investment partners and where he continues to serve on the Board. Prior to forming Lakewood, McLeod was Senior Vice President and Treasurer of Host Hotels & Resorts, the largest public lodging REIT and S&P 500 company. In that role, he oversaw the management of a $20 billion balance sheet and was responsible for all capital markets, investor relations, cash management, corporate finance, corporate strategy, strategic planning, and merger and acquisitions activities. McLeod was involved in over $15 billion of real estate transactions in his nearly 15-year career at Host. He holds an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and a B.S. in Business Administration from the McDonough School of Business at Georgetown University where he double-majored in Finance and Management.
