Meet the New 2024-2025 Poland Real Estate Fellows

Case and Pitch Competitions are a key way for real asset students to practice skills such as research, utilizing frameworks, and presenting their findings to panels of judges. Over the past year, the Steers Center has sent six student teams featuring 26 students to compete in highly competitive case competitions across the country as well as right here at Georgetown. See some of the highlight’s from the spring semester below:
At the Miami Impact Investing in Commercial Real Estate Case Competition. The Steers Center’s MS-GRA team, made up of Malik Beenish (Bee) Haleem (MS-GRA’25), Linus Billings (MS-GRA’25), Tye Pierce (MS-GRA’25), Grady Lonergan (MS-GRA’25), and Santo Benenati (MS-GRA’25) were finalists and traveled to the University of Miami Herbert Business School where they developed and presented an affordable housing proposal for Glover Park, Washington, D.C., which included preschool to enhance early childhood education accessibility.
At Villanova’s Mulroy Real Estate Challenge, a team of four undergraduate students received Honorable Mention for their pitch recommending Brandywine Realty Trust develop a mixed-use, life science asset in Center City, Philadelphia to capitalize on the lot’s proximity to top universities while also giving back to the City of Philadelphia. The team was made up of Lauryn Chotiner (B’27), Thomas Henry (B’25), Jonah Hill (B’26), and Zahan Nallaseth (B’26).
At the Georgetown Walsh School of Foreign Service’s Global Impact Pitch Competition, MS-GRA students Malik Beenish (Bee) Haleem and Zach deMello (MS-GRA’25) presented a modular housing solution aimed at addressing the needs of low-income and homeless populations, emphasizing scalability and sustainability. Bee and Zach received a $2,000 cash prize for their pitch.
