Our Alumni
Georgetown University Real Estate Alliance (GUREA)
What is the Georgetown Real Estate Alliance?
Established in 2015 by a group of dedicated alumni, the Georgetown University Real Estate Alliance (GUREA) serves as a vital link between the Steers Center for Global Real Assets, current students, alumni, and friends of the real estate program, and the real estate industry.
The Georgetown University Real Estate Alliance exists to welcome and encourage Georgetown University real estate students into the industry and to offer a best-in-class alumni organization for its membership that promotes networking opportunities and relationship building. This is for GRA alumni, MBA alumni, and Undergraduate alumni alike.
Make sure to follow us on our LinkedIn page, by clicking on the ‘Follow Us’ button and by joining GUREA, by clicking on the ‘Get Involved’ button at the bottom of the page.

What does it mean to join GUREA?
By joining GUREA, you will have access to regularly occurring social programming, alumni events, and exclusive newsletters and emails about real estate alumni engagement opportunities. The Steers Center also leverages the GUREA network to serve as ambassadors for its academic programs through event attendance and outreach to prospective students, as well as through the GUREA and First Year Seminar Mentorship programs.
Here are some ways GUREA members have gotten involved –
- Hosted an undergraduate or graduate event at their office;
- Hired a Hoya they met at an event;
- Hosted a group dinner with Steers Center alumni;
- Hosted a recurring breakfast for alumni;
- Served as a judge for the McDonough Real Estate Case Competition; and
- Secured group tickets to a New York Yankees game.
If you have an idea for future GUREA programming or would like to host or plan an event, please reach out to Lena Duffield (lena.duffield@afrecapital.com) or Aaron Bothner (bothner@pamera.com).
All of these networking experiences translate into profitable opportunities for our students. 89% of our MBA students had job offers within three months of graduation, and 97% of our undergraduates had employment offers within that same time span.

Georgetown real estate alumni stay connected with their alma mater and each other by joining GUREA, serving as guest lecturers, hosting student treks, and by attending alumni receptions. Our alumni network also stays connected with current students by participating in the GUREA Mentorship Program and by sharing full-time job opportunities and internships.
