Laura Sanint Micolta (MBA’16)

Q. Since graduating, where are you now?

A. I began working at my father’s firm, Ascentis Real Estate Partners, as the senior associate investment manager. I first started working for the firm as a summer intern in 2007 while I was an undergraduate at the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business. After receiving my MBA from Georgetown McDonough, I was so excited to go back and contribute what I learned.

Q. What are you most excited about for your new job?

A. We are working on an initiative that creates a real estate fund to invest in multifamily properties in mostly Hispanic communities in the United States. It is an exciting prospect, as it combines the two fields we have a great deal of experience and expertise in — investment in multifamily properties and using an institutional investor base.

Q. How do you keep in touch with alumni?

A. I am an active member of the mentor-mentee program, and I also am active in the Georgetown University Real Estate Alliance (www.georgetownrealestatealliance.com). The McDonough School of Business and the Steers Center for Global Real Estate often are hosting events that offer great opportunities to meet fellow Hoyas and network in the industry.
