Edward Walter is currently a Senior Advisor to Energy Impact Partners, a venture capital firm investing in the energy transition. He retired in November of 2022 after four plus years from his role as the Global CEO of the Urban Land Institute. This followed his retirement in December 2016 from Host Hotels & Resorts, having completed a 20-year tenure with the company, including serving as the CEO and president from 2007 - 2016. Previously, Walter was a partner with Trammell Crow Residential Company and the president of Bailey Capital Corporation. He currently serves on the board of directors of AvalonBay Communities, Inc., Ameriprise Financial, Claros Mortgage Trust, Cohen & Steers Income Opportunities REIT and Measurabl. He is also a past chairman and executive board member of NAREIT.
